Das Album Solstice

Briony ist die Tochter des englischen Folk-Musikers und Multiinstrumentalisten Mat Williams. Grundlage des Albums Solstice ist eine Sammlung ihrer eigenen Gedichte, die sie im Alter von nur 14 Jahren schrieb und noch im selben Jahr selbst vertonte. Zusammen mit ihrem Vater Mat unterstützten wir sie bei der Produktion ihres Albums. Zum Zeitpunkt der Veröffentlichung 2015 war Briony 16 Jahre alt. Alles über Briony und ihr Album Solstice
Anmerkungen zu Flames
Ein weiterer dunkler und melancholischer Song, aber anders als bei ‘Chasing Dragons’ gibt es hier Trost und Halt. Letztlich also ein melancholischer Song über die inneren Konflikte eines Teenagers. Dies ist einer Texte, die Briony mit 14 Jahren schrieb, also gewissermaßen ein Bericht von der vordersten Front. Wie immer hat Briony auch hier wieder wunderschöne Bilder aus der Natur gefunden, um die innere Zerissenheit zu schildern. Hier bedarf die Übersetzung eigentlich keiner weiteren Klärung. Abschließend noch eine Erläuterung von Mat zu dem Bild der ‘Side Lines’, mit dem das Lied beginnt:
The side lines are like waiting to come on to stage or the field of a team game. It’s all about anticipation and not being the centre of attention. Something the main subject is hardly aware of or hasn’t appeared yet. The saying is ‘Waiting on the side lines’
